Rewind: He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not

Almost nine years ago, my website (before it was even vate.net) had its brush with greatness. On a baby-fresh Internet where viral audio wasn't even labelled yet, my friend Nancy sent me an e-mail with a HUGE 1.25 mb file (can you say 56k modem?). It was from a Radio show in Minnesota where they test a guy to see if he will send free flowers to his girlfriend . . . or to someone else. Well the prank worked out even better than expected, and the results were both hilarious and pathetic (aka "good content").

So Nancy also sent it to the Washington Post for their new Internet column "The Navigator", but there wasn't a website to link to. So I agreed to post it on my site, and the rest is history. I don't remember how much traffic it generated, but since there were about 100 people online at the time it would be laughable by Youtube standards. But still, I'd like to think that in some way I had a part in harnessing this incredible new technology so people could waste time at work. Enjoy.

"The Radio.wav"

Also in RealAudio 1.1 or something equally crusty
